James W. Cron is a seasoned engineering professional with over 27 years of experience in the O&G industry, specializing in large-scale exploration and production (E&P) operations both in the U.S. and internationally, followed by 8 years focused on subsurface storage to solve technical and business challenges. A proud native of Northwestern North Dakota with a strong farm and ranch background, James brings a practical, results-driven approach to his work. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering from the University of North Dakota and later earned an MBA in Technology Management from Kennedy College in Switzerland. Throughout his career, James has provided technical leadership and engineering expertise across various sectors of the energy industry. Currently, he serves as SME at Geostock Sandia, where he focuses on project management and design engineering for complex subsurface storage projects. His work includes CO₂ sequestration storage, natural gas, hydrogen and helium storage, geothermal applications, and the design of Class I, II, V and VI wells. With a wealth of knowledge in geological engineering and energy infrastructure, James is dedicated to advancing sustainable and innovative storage solutions for the evolving energy landscape. Jim hobbies include rifle shooting sports, snow skiing and endurance motorcycle riding.
