Dr. Amit Narayan is CEO and Co-founder of GridCARE, where he works with hyperscalers, data center developers, and utilities to unlock near-term capacity on the existing grid and accelerate speed-to-power using advanced grid physics and AI-driven forecasting. GridCARE recently unlocked 400+ MW of capacity in Hillsboro, OR — the first-of its-kind transmission-scale flexible interconnection, enabling $10B+ in new data center investment. He previously founded and led AutoGrid, a Virtual Power Plant and DER optimization platform deployed by 50+ utilities across 20+ countries; AutoGrid was acquired by Schneider Electric. Before that, Dr. Narayan served as Director of Smart Grid Research at Stanford University, focused on modeling, optimization, and control of modern power systems. Earlier in his career, he led semiconductor innovation at Magma Design Automation and founded Berkeley Design Automation, building circuit simulation and sign-off technologies used by 100+ semiconductor companies. His work has been recognized globally, including as a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer and Bloomberg New Energy Pioneer. He holds a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and is also the founder of Aina Climate AI Ventures, where he invests in and advises energy-tech startups and funds.
