Serving as Director of Mission Critical at IES Electrical, Stephen leads enterprise-level initiatives encompassing business acquisition, preconstruction, operations, and continuous improvement. He has a proven track record, over his 30+ year career in electrical construction, building high-functioning teams and developing standards in project controls, QA/QC, procurement, and virtual design and construction (VDC), ensuring consistent project execution aligned with safety, quality, and financial benchmarks.
Stephen has been leading the development and growth of data center construction at IES since 2020. Prior to that, Stephen began his career as an electrician in 1994, quickly moving into leadership roles in both operations and preconstruction. Over the last 17 years, Stephen has focused solely in the data center space, leading the design and development of government, enterprise, colocation, and hyperscale data centers across North America.
He has managed the execution of over 1 GW of critical capacity across a wide range of project types, including greenfield developments, multi-site expansions, and infrastructure retrofits. His experience includes overseeing large-scale electrical scopes with full responsibility for design coordination, procurement strategy, field execution, and schedule performance. Throughout his career, Stephen has supported some of the most demanding electrical builds in the industry, consistently maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and operational readiness.
Prior to joining IES, Stephen held leadership roles at PowerSecure and M.C. Dean. His background includes managing both design-build and design-assist contracts, working closely with clients, engineers, and general contractors to deliver technically complex facilities under aggressive timelines. Stephen is known for his disciplined, hands-on approach to leadership and his focus on aligning project execution with the evolving demands of the mission-critical sector.
